Living the Dream

I got sharing from my cousin and I would like to share it to you.

“I think…I wanna be a doctor…! Because I want to help sick people” “I wanna be an artist...I think they’re so cool...!” two little primary school kids are talking about what they want to do when they grow up during the class break. They are sounded very proud with what they want to be…, but as they grow up, they forgot the dreams they had when they were kid. Challenges came along the way and drifted their dreams away.

I found, it is very easy for a lil' kid to express and say what they wanna do. They dream big and all seem so easy for them to make it come true. I see so many times in life, as we grow older we became so aware with all the threats surrounds us. Those dreams seem taken and drifted away from us, what used to be possible has become impossible for us.

It says in the Bible, 1 John 5:4, "For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith." The word 'overcome' here in Greek translation is 'Nikao', which means to subdue, to conquer, to prevail, and to get the victory.
The truth is telling me that we are born to be a conquer; that we are born to overcome the world. To be a conquer, logically speaking, means that there are things that we need to conquer. If there is no challenges in life than the calling of being a conquer is no longer making sense at all.

God put dreams in every single person on this planet to be everything that God has created them uniquely to be. Have you ever thought that the reason why he put it in our heart is because he knows that one day we can see those dreams in reality? He is the Alpha and the Omega, which means he is ‘the beginning’ and ‘the end’. Psalms 139:16 says, "Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."

He holds ‘the book’, in fact, he is the author of the book. A lot of us are still in chapter three and what we know is only the first three chapters and just a shadow of the last chapter where our dreams are placed. But God, he knows exactly what happen in the next chapters continually until the last chapter. He has seen and planned for us in order for us to achieve the dreams that he had given to us, and that’s why he is again and again saying to us, "Don't give up! Push through and overcome! I know you can do it, baby!"

This hope gives us assurance that we can trust in him who is the author of our life. With our faith in Jesus, we overcome all the threats of this world. Yes, challenges, hardships, and unfair situations might happen in our lives, but when we put our eyes on Jesus, when we put our faith in the author, when we learn to let go and let God, his power and strength will be made complete in our life.

It sounds cliché, but it is indeed the truth. To overcome injustice is to do what is just, to overcome evil is to love, to overcome lies is to speak the truth. Yes we are called to overcome the world and to be who God has created and called us to be. Keep pursue your dreams because all things are possible in him and the cool thing is... He is in you...So, keep LIVING THE DREAM that God has written for you...
